Referee, Maturity, Peace?

Recently I have been asked to write a reference for a friend.  Most professionals through their lifetime of duty, I am sure they must have written a few references.  However, this is my first.  I know now why I was not approached previously to be a referee.  Apparently, to be a referee, you need to be at least 30 years of age!  Geez, this is such a reality check yet again to remind us that the years are flowing ridiculously fast.

The general assumption would be, professionals who are more than 30 years of age are considered to be mature and able to make sound judgement on other people’s personality.  Hmm… this is the era where being 40s is the new 30s, I am not quite convince that those who are 30 years of age are able to deliver absolute mature judgement over a character.  Maybe from now on , only those who are 40 years of age are allow to be a referee 😉

Honestly, our current social circumstances does not promote rapid maturity at all.  I mean… we are so spoiled with modern technologies and zero fear for survival.  Think about WWI and WWII.  A 20 year old then may be a hundred times more mature than a bloody 30 year old now!  WWII ended in 1945 and since then we have been war-free in most countries.  Forget about all those provoked by the Americans.

I am not saying that it is a bad thing to be war-free.  It is wonderful of course.  Unfortunately the results of peace are complacence and ignorance.  Humans no longer strive to be better nor live with a purpose.  Perspectives are sometimes lost to them.  We have taken everything for granted.  Daily petty issues are exaggerated for… I do not know what but possibly to fill the meat known as the brain.  Sometimes it drives me mad when people are so bloody lost!

They are only so bloody lost because peace gave them the luxury to do so.  Imagine if we were in a war, be lost and be dead.  Do you think you will have the time to sit around and contemplate your life?   Chances are you may be shot on the very bench you sat on.   Blaming others for things that did not work out?  Try blaming the soldiers.  Asking numerous ‘why me’ questions? Pointless, because it is you and you are not the only one.  People!  Wake up and smell your own extinction!  The rate that we are going, it is no wonder that the human race is destine to drive ourselves to extinction.

The delayed maturity level will only lead to the degradation of a society.  More ungrateful scumbags roam the earth.  Complacence and ingnorance will prevent innovation.  The lost of perspective and rise of petty issues will only further contribute to personal and society degradation.  What a world that we are now living in.  The earth has been peaceful until the invasion of the homo sapiens.

No worries, I was lost too while writing this blog. Couldn’t even come up with a general title! Completely lost the plot. I know 😉
